• Heaven exists!

    Location: wonderful!
    Rooms: beautiful!
    Courtesy: unbeatable!
Close your eyes and imagine: a beautiful cottage, great .. clean .. elegant .. with all amenities. A lake, blue and calm … where water lilies bloom .. where you can swim … fish .. go canoeing … or simply sleep to rowing on the boat.
Imagine a lush green lawn with flowers and fruits to collect, between the cottage and the lake ..
Imagine a real traditional Finnish sauna, then plunge into the lake … Imagine a hut where you can cook and eat on the shore of the lake. Or even a fireplace right on the beach …. Imagine, all around, paths for walking, and cycling, among woods and carpets of fresh blueberries! Imagine that you stay for hours without listening to a car engine!
Imagine walking in the woods at midnight, with no torch! In the incredible silence of the woods of Karelia.
Imagine a hearty breakfast with fresh fruit and homemade jam on the spot, with local fruits …
Imagine people with incredible kindness … They will provide everything: canoe, boat, bicycle, maps, sauna ..
Now open your eyes, you’ve come to Jongunjoki!
I’ve never seen a paradise like this …
    I’ll be back!
    I swear!

  • Superb!

We stayed here for two nights in early April. Albeit not the best time of the year to visit, we still thought it was incredibly pretty, and it was great to see some of the migratory birds coming back. The forests are really nice to walk through, and the locals are very helpful in a pinch. Jarkko was incredibly helpful in describing possible walks we could go on and the local sights. He was also more than happy to go birdwatching with us! We really felt welcome and cared for during our stay. Jarkko is very knowledgable about the local wildlife and area, and was able to answer any questions we had for him. The cottage we stayed in was warm, clean, well furnished and maintained, and very very cozy. We honestly can’t wait to be back! Thanks so much!
