Our Forest & Trail

Starting right from the yard, our nature trail leads you into our protected natural area. Meandering through a pristine boreal forest and a tranquil peat bog, the trail eventually skirts along a lakeshore, where you’ll discover a welcoming open fire pit, perfect for an invigorating pause. As you traverse, keep an eye out for diverse bird species, intriguing animal tracks, and the captivating flora thriving in our dear forest.

Accessible year-round, even during the polar nights, the trail offers enchanting views illuminated by the soft glow of moonlight or flickering torches. With a length ranging from 1.5 to 3.5 kilometers, tailor your journey to match your desires. Whether by foot, Nordic walking, snowshoes, or skis, the trail accommodates various modes of exploration.

Protected forest & biodiversity

We are the caretakers of a small forest that was already close to its natural state when we acquired it. From the very beginning, we chose to keep it that way. Our forest is not managed for wood production; instead, it is allowed to live, age, and renew itself naturally.

Several tree species, trees growing at different ages, sizes, and decaying wood, are part of the life of our forest. Natural forests provide better living conditions for many mammals, birds, and insects, as well as several plant species and fungi. Decaying trees and wood provide important nesting sites, winter shelters, food and nutrition for countless species.

We build and install wooden nest boxes and winter feeders to support wildlife, especially birds, during the harsh winters.

Our forest camp

Our lakeside forest camp is accessible year-round. It features fireplaces, a dry toilette, a wooden shelter, and a rowing boat in a completely uninhabited place. The camp can be reached by walking, hiking, cycling, skiing, or snowshoeing starting from our main building.
