Jongunjoen Matkailu is located in the beautiful geographical area of Finnish Lakeland. More precisely, we are located in the Municipality of Lieksa, which belongs to the unique region of North Karelia, known for its distinctive historical and cultural heritage.

COMING BY TRAIN

It is possible to get to Lieksa by train from Helsinki. Normally there is a connection at Joensuu´s railway station. Check train timetables and prices at www.vr.fi 

From Lieksa Center to Jongunjoen Matkailu the transportation options are taxi or a transfer performed by our staff. The distance is 32 km. The normal duration of the trip is 35 minutes. 

FLYING 

It is possible to take a domestic flight from Helsinki to our nearest airports: 
Joensuu Airport (JOE) Duration of transfer aprox. 2hrs/ 136km
Kuopio Airport (KUO) Duration of transfer aprox. 2,5 hrs / 165km
Kajaani Airport (KAJ) Duration of transfer aprox. 2,75 hrs / 180km

Some tour operators offer direct flights from Europe to our nearby airports. 

We can help you arrange a transfer from the airport to our accommodation. 

CAR RENTAL

Car rental is available in Finland at major cities, airports, and train stations, except in Lieksa. 

COMING BY ROAD 

Routes are generally easy and safe to drive in Finland. Mind winter driving conditions, that might be challenging without previous experience. 

COMING WALKING OR BY BICYCLE 

It is possible to walk or bike to our property. We are located near the Karhunpolku hiking route. It is possible to transport your bicycle on Finnish trains with a previous booking (check www.vr.fi for more information). 

COMING BY PRIVATE FLOATPLANE OR HELICOPTER?

It is possible to land on our lake or yard. Please ask for more information.
